When I was living in the U.S., I always felt a little like I'd been uprooted and replanted somewhere else - it was familiar, but not quite like home.
I was born, raised and educated in Canada, but I headed to the U.S. for work because it was pretty scarce at home. I always knew I'd return to Canada some day, although I didn't know when. The idea of migrating south for the winter and north for the summer months seemed rather a propos to my situation, so being Canadian, I focused on the Canada Goose. Hence, the Transplanted Goose.
I started this site as a way to share photographs and my attempts at art with family and friends, and even though I've returned to Canada, and the name no longer really fits, I've decided to keep it.
As a domain name, it's unique - a search for it in the domain name registries shows that no one else has anything like it. That's difficult to accomplish, and I kinda like that about it.
Besides, "The Replanted Goose" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
