Workshop March 23, 2003 |
| |
|
These photos are the result of a workshop with Margaret Miller, based on her book,
Strips That Sizzle. We were asked to bring a selection of fabrics ranging in
value from light to dark from each of two colour families, and a camera. This was my
first time using my digital camera, and some of the photos turned out quite well
(although others didn't). I chose yellow and blue as my colours, because I'd seen a
painting at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam using those two colours (but unfortunately,
I didn't note the name of the painting, and now I'm kicking myself). After sewing our
blocks together, we worked on a design board, playing with different designs and
combinations of blocks. These are the results. The drafts in other colour combinations
are from other workshop participants, including two who combined forces at the end to
play with three colours.
